Rules for 2016-2017:
- Contest begins October 1, 2016 and ends January 31, 2017. All entries must be scored by February 1, 2017 to qualify for the Big Buck Contest.
- You must be an EASL member before October 1, 2016. An updated membership list will be used to check if you are a current member.
- Children age 15 or younger are eligible if at least one parent is a current EASL member.
- There will be a monthly contest for deer taken in Louisiana only. A $10.00 prize will be awarded to the monthly winner.
- Deer to be entered into the contest may be taken anywhere in the United States and Canada only.
- Any deer to be entered in the contest must be taken by fair chase in the wild. This means that any deer taken on a game ranch that is HIGH FENCED where the deer cannot come and go as they please will not be entered. Remember this is supposed to be a friendly contest.
- All deer to be entered into the contest must be scored by the contest chairman. The chairman’s decision is final.
- There will be 3 divisions for the contest: Youth Division for children 15 years old and under; Louisiana Division Big Buck; and Big Buck Overall. The winner of each division will have their deer mounted for free – compliments of Fins to Feathers Taxidermy and presented to them at the February meeting. Also, door prizes are awarded at the end of the contest for anyone entering a deer.
